Fort Charlotte
Whoever said history wasn’t enjoyable, clearly, have never visited Fort Charlotte. The Fort built by the English in 1806 as a means of defense against the Caribs and is 600 ft above the sea giving a stunning view across capital Kingstown and down the Grenadines. There are interesting paintings, by Linsay Prescott, in what used to be officers’ quarters, depicting the life of the Black Caribs. A trip to the Fort is a walk through history. Facilities includes information booth, parking, washrooms, signal station and lighthouse.
